This flue liner adaptor is manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel. The adaptor is used to connect chimney flue liner to the flue pipe at the base of the flue. There are two skins at the top of the adaptor where the liner connects between these two skins. The inner skin is slightly longer so that it prevents snagging and reduces strain on the joint, especially when sweeping the flue.
To connect the flue liner to the adaptor stainless steel self tapping screws will be needed. Here your installer will need to drill some pilot holes through the outer skin of the adaptor to secure the liner in place. They will complete the joint by sealing between the liner and outer skin of the adaptor with fire cement.
